After I posted my mother-in-law’s best friend’s epic pho recipe, everyone in the family was so happy and excited. This seems to have inspired my mother-in-law, Auntie Jenny, to come to me with a few dishes that she wants to pass on.
So my latest recipe video is of the most important dish to my husband, Craig. Beef & tomato stir fry is a classic Cantonese dish that was a regular in his family growing up. It was also one of his top 2 favourites, the other being steamed black cod with black bean sauce.
But of course there was no recipe written down, so I had to do primary research, i.e. watching her make it and asking a lot of questions. I even filmed a video of her making it so I wouldn’t forget!
As I try to teach my son, everything’s better when shared, so I’m delighted to not only preserve this recipe, but to share it with all of you!

It is where I started my YouTube channel over a decade ago, and I remember perusing all the fascinating cookbooks at Omnivore and attending many author events here.
